SAE Creative Media Institute

ASP8024: “A great teaching tool”

Established in 1976, SAE Creative Media Institute provides niche creative media programs to about 10,000 students at 52 campuses globally.

Students of the SAE Institute in New York will be studying audio technology on a 24-channel ASP8024, installed this summer. Complete with patchbay and Dual Layer Control module, the analogue desk from Audient helps provide intuitive control of the DAW session as well as a clear overview of signal flow.

John Jansen, Director of Education in the New York facility has been getting a feel for their newest arrival. “The patchbay created a learning curve for the students at first,” he reveals. “Once it was understood, people love it.

“The bus compressor is a favourite feature too,” he continues. “The console is very flexible and a great teaching tool, because the signal flow is straight ahead, without caveats and exceptions.”

The New York campus was the first SAE Institute to open in the US, and provides training for careers in the Audio & Creative Media Industries. The teaching is a balance of traditional lecture style classes, hands-on training and individual studio time.
