“ORIA just makes my life easier overall,” says multi award-winning audio engineer, Daniel Abrusci. Specialising in sound design, recording and mixing for TV & film, Dan has worked with many top brands including ESPN, BBC, Adidas, Samsung, BMW and Breitling.

Recently he has been trialling ORIA. Having worked in Surround Sound for a decade means Dan delivers mixes in both 5.1 and Stereo. “Before ORIA, I had my interface set up for surround, but monitor control wasn’t as easy and accurate as working with ORIA. It meant any change from Stereo to 5.1 wasn’t as smooth.”
Setting up was easy following the step-by-step videos on Audient’s YouTube Channel. “It was really straightforward. A nice detail was finding that the outputs are already set to the specific speakers and named on the back of the unit,” he explains. Extra helpful was finding ORIA uses SoundID Reference – software he was already using to calibrate his room. “This integration made the transition seamless and added an extra layer of precision to my setup.

“After it was installed, I didn’t have to make any changes to my workflow at all. In fact, my workflow has improved,” adds Dan. “ORIA did even more than I could hope for as the features it brings are just so useful for post production.
Fast forward to today, and he couldn’t be happier. “Overall I really enjoy the design and the software is brilliant. I think that people doing post production and needing easy-to-use, dynamic options should really check out ORIA!”

Dan’s work has been recognised with numerous awards and nominations, including three Emmy Awards (Suncoast chapter), two gold and two silver Promax, two Latin Grammy nominations as well as Tribeca and Berlinale official selections.
“As for me? I am definitely looking into getting into Atmos in the near future. That will be very easy now I have ORIA in my setup.”
