YangLei on ASP8024-HE: “the sound of the console is great”

Siman Li from Music King explains how he got on with his initial introduction. “YangLei enjoyed studying the Audient ASP8024-HE desk, quickly understanding its workflow from the outset.”

Billed as one of the most famous scholars in the Chinese music field, YangLei has held teaching posts in famous universities Shenyang Conservatory of Music and Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, and has published several academic works on a variety of subjects.

As a music creator, he has combined traditional Chinese musical instruments with modern electronic music and was commissioned by Musik Triennale Köln to write Orieb in 2006. In the same year, he also created Chamber music work The Song from Shang (Shang Ge) for the Shanghai International Electroacoustic Music Week and Conversion (Gui Yi) for a Beijing International New Media Art Symposium concert. Also prolific in programming, he was chief music co-ordinator and program engineer for the Chinese version of American Idol back in 2015.

YangLei will be using the Audient ASP8024-HE to produce his own music at the Music King studio, in order to showcase the console. Luckily, he thinks “the sound of the console is great” and that it is “quite easy to master” so he will be up and running in no time!
