Audient, the renowned British manufacturer of professional audio equipment, today announced the End of Life (EOL) for two products from its interface range: the iD22 High Performance USB Audio Interface and the Sono Guitar Recording Interface.
iD22: A Decade of Excellence
The iD22 first launched in 2013, pioneering Audient’s desktop audio interface range and quickly becoming a staple in home and project studios worldwide.
It has since been succeeded by the next generation, the powerful and flexible iD24, which launched in 2023.
Sono: The Guitarist’s Interface
The Sono, a unique collaboration with Two notes audio engineering, brought valve preamp tone and advanced cabinet simulation to the desktop when it launched in January 2019.
Commitment to Long-Term Support
Audient reaffirms its commitment to its loyal customer base by announcing a comprehensive support plan for these products:
Extended Spare Parts Support: Audient will continue to provide support and spare parts for both the iD22 and Sono in line with our EOL Support Policy.
Why this matters to the customer:
Providing spare parts for an extended period ensures that current owners can maintain and repair their interfaces for years to come, maximizing the lifespan and return on investment of their original purchase. It reflects Audient’s dedication to quality and minimizing e-waste.
Final Software Support Details
To allow users to continue operating their interfaces in modern recording environments, Audient will provide a final set of official driver updates:
- The last officially supported operating systems for both the iD22 and Sono will be Windows 11 and macOS Tahoe.
- No further official driver development for new operating system releases will be undertaken for these models.
Audient encourages all existing users to register their products via the ARC platform for access to the latest downloads, user guides and support resources.
